 All About Geshe Sherab ~ A Master for a New Generation

Geshe-la is so well known and deeply appreciated for his wonderful humor, his compassion, and wisdom, astute insights of human nature, and his gentle impeccable inspiring conduct and presence - offering the precious dharma to us in everyday language when needed and precisely traditional when appropriate and all in perfect English for our benefit

Geshe Thubten Sherab was born in Menang, Nepal in 1966. He entered Kopan Monastery at the age of 9. After 10 years of study, he went to Sera Je Monastery graduating as a Geshe. After this he went to Gyume Tantric College for one year where he qualified in tantric studies and rituals and then to Kopan Monastery for one year to teach young monks. From 2001 – 2003, Geshe Sherab served as Board member at FPMT International Office, Taos, USA.

He was appointed Head Master of Kopan Monastery from 2006 – 2010 and then served as Acting Abbot in 2011 at Kopan Monastery. For more than a decade Geshe Sherab has been traveling the world, teaching at FPMT centers in the USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Asia, Europe, and Australia. Currently, Geshe-la is a resident teacher at Thubten Norbu Ling Center, Santa Fe, USA, where he spends six months of the year, whilst the other six months are spent as an International FPMT Touring Geshe.
